Aster in clay soil?

    I wonder if you could adopt a sort of half way measure to counteract the wet? If you had a large plastic pot that you could take the bottom out of, you could put that in the border with a nice growing medium in it for the aster. It would contain the soil well, but would be less permanent than a constructed bed. Over time, it will generally improve the soil in the bed too   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    That sounds easy enough. I have two pots, I might try one like this and one with the mound method. Thanks!
