Fruit not setting - courgettes and cucumbers

I have several very healthy courgette plants outside which have flowered well and i can see the small fruits growing behind it on some steams. They get to about 2-3 cms then seem to go yellow and drop off. Similarly my cucumber is very vigorous, in a greenhouse and flowered well. I have two cucumbers growing but the rest of the flowers/fruits are growing 2-3 cms then falling off. What am i doing wrong?

I don’t grow cucumbers so can’t say, I’m just learning, but the problem with the courgette is because they are not fertilised/pollinated , you could use a paint brush and tickle the flowers. I do that with my peppers.
