Flooding in newly laid turf
Hi All,
My Lawn was returfed last month and has since flooded twice. The first time it was reported that almost 3 weeks worth of rain fell in an hour and there was flooding in a lot of roads around (although couldn't visibly see any on neighbour's lawns). Again today with some heavy downpour for an hour it has caused more flooding. Is there something that I can do to improve the drainage?

Are you on clay? That can hamper dainage. Compact ground can also cause puddles on the lawn.
I notice your neighbours have many trees in their gardens - that can help suck up water. You just have a lawn so rainwater is more likely to sit on the surface.
If its still boggy after a smaller amount of rain you can try a hollow tine aerator which removes a plug, helps with any compaction and when the holes made by the aerator are backfilled with sand it will help with drainage. These are relatively short term solutions though. If they work, great but if not the other options tend to be fairly major..and for a lawn that size, IMO not worth the effort or expense.
