If your soil is acidic some of the small japanese azaleas might suit.

I can recommend Cistus 'Gold Prize'. Variegated and evergreen so it looks good all year, lots of white flowers in early summer, low growing, spreads rapidly but easily controlled. It does well in my clay soil.

I also would recommend cistus .I have one and I’m north south facing in Buckinghamshire.It performs very well .

Hellebore x Sternii. Euphorbia myrsinites (always use gloves when touching this type). Both drought tolerant, full sun.
