New garden turf
Hello,
newbie here and I’m concerned about my new turf.
it was installed last Wednesday (21st July) and I’m a little concerned by the look of the way it is now.
We’ve been watering it twice a day since we got it and we’re scared we’ve not been doing enough.

What does everyone else think?

The big mistake is watering too lightly which does more harm than good.

There are quite large gaps between the turves, and that shouldn't happen if it's been properly prepped and laid, with plenty of water afterwards.
I know that sounds like a lot, but if you consider how much rain would fall in an hour or two, and how green that makes a lawn, you can see the amount needed with a sprinkler or hose to be effective.
If you only have a hose, and no sprinkler, you can rig up a way of leaving it to get on with the watering itself, instead of standing there for ages. A garden fork pushed in [one with a D handle ] and then push the hose handle in and fiddle around till you get it aimed the right way. You can fix it in place with wire or similar. You'd just need to move it around every 2 to 30 mins, as it won't cover the kind of area a sprinkler would.
