I think six trusses is a lot for that plant. I’d stop the tip now.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Ah - I couldn't see them @billyk098R4I3xs6Z :)
Normally you nip out the tops when you have around 5 to 6 trusses set.
It may be something that simple @JennyJ. If it's had other problems already, it just might be the runt of the litter.  :/

Yeah I sometimes have difficulty finding them on the plant itself😂 they’re quite hidden away and the Toms blend in with the leaves. There’s no yellow flowers as the bottom three trusses have fruit and top one is quite new. The first truss didn’t set until the plant was about 70-80cm tall, however the others set quite close together.

    Snapping again @Dovefromabove :D

If it's the type of tom that needs the side shoots nipped out, it might be that you've missed some too. Easily done, especially when plants suddenly grow quickly, and that can use up resources. The variety I'm growing this year seems to grow a foot in each direction every night!

As long as you have others that are doing fine, maybe just put it down to experience @billyk098R4I3xs6Z  :)

  • A quick one, does anyone think these have a chance at ripening? I pulled them off my bush tomatoes after the stem snapped in a thunderstorm

Bring them into the house. They look as if they're starting to turn paler, so that means they've started ripening.
    Fingers crossed  :)

  • I think they’re still pretty much mature green so they have a pretty long way to go! To be honest I don’t even think they’re done growing yet 😬

Worth a shot though. Annoying when these things happen.

You could try putting them in a paper bag with a banana,  or in a drawer.  It might help.

Yep I’ve done exactly that, wrapped in newspaper with a banana, hopefully the ethylene can work wonders🙏
