Grisilinia with brown patchy leaves

There’s been loads of rain recently, as well as lots of very hot days. I removed a few leaves with similar damage a few weeks ago, but now it’s back and more extensive.
Is this phytophthora? If it is, what can I do? Is there any treatment you can recommend? If it isn’t, what is it? And what can I do to fix it? I’m hoping not to lose the plant.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Ellie
p.s. not sure if relevant, but my garden is heavy clay soil (although I’ve done a fair bit to try and improve it.)

I'd agree with @Borderline. They can be a bit susceptible to extremes of weather, and lots of shrubs [in particular] have had damage due to that this year.
I'm sure it'll be fine.
