Magnolia stellata

I only bought this plant a few months ago. It was doing great but now some of the leaves are turning brown. Is this sun scorch. If so, should I cut the damaged leaves off. Thanks for your help.

Very possibly, but it also looks very cramped in its space from what I can see in the photo. They are small trees so one should try to leave a circle of at least 2 to 3ft clear space about the trunk, they don't like to be crowded. It needs watering well, especially in hot weather, at least two full cans of water every day or two or three times a week if it's cooler.= for it's 1st year.
It would do better in partial shade.

Thanks Lizzie I am not giving anything near that amount of water. Yes it is pretty cramped where it is at the moment. Will make all the necessary suggestions tomorrow 🙂
