The purple one could be Etoile Violette, a group 3 viticella. Prune hard in spring and give it a generous feed of slow release rose, tomato or clematis fertiliser, a good drink and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost to retain moisture. They are good do-ers and the one I had in my last garden produced more and more stems and flowers every year.

Thanks for that, can hardly believe that you can come up with a name from the hundreds and hundreds of species from just a pic Will put that in my book to do for Spring and will do the same for other one, they are planted by each other and I have always done the same for both Im very impressed. Thank you
I'd agree - looks like E.Violette. It's a very easy variety too, as @Obelixx says - very tough and thrives well in most gardens. I've had it in every garden I've had
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thank you all for help I have had Fairygirl, I think I have had loads of advice from you, Chris-P thank you for info on the campanula which I have just discovered name for. I do not think I will ever be an educated or knowledgeable garden as I do not retain new information like I used to but with the help of everyone on here I am certainly growing and sorting problems with plants
Maybe it's worth taking some notes for certain plants . It would let you have a basic guide for things like pruning or feeding etc. Maybe doing it as a calendar, so that you can have the info for getting the timing right. Keep it simple

Yes am trying to do that now, only started gardening from bare earth and fence that I had builders do for me in 2017 Cannot believe it is the garden it is now. Loads and loads of mistakes, but cannot believe I have grown so many different plants with so little knowledge of gardening on top of the fact that I do not like creepy crawlies of any kind Could not have done it without this site, have had advice from family and friends but they get it wrong a lot of the time Will keep coming on here with my questions which will be many and frequent lol Thank you all for your help
