What is this shrub?

The discussion about which plants in our gardens attract the most bees has reminded me that I still don’t know what this shrub is. The flowers are just starting now, but soon it will be vibrating with tiny bumble bees loud enough to hear at quite a distance. It’s currently about 7 feet tall, and 8 feet wide and would be wider if we didn’t prune it. I wish we didn’t have to but it’s right next to the drive and needs to be kept in check.

Carmarthenshire (mild, wet, windy). Loam over shale, very slightly sloping, so free draining. Mildly acidic or neutral.

Could well be. I think it might have those round white berries, and if my memory was better I would be certain 🤪. I’ll know later on in the year, thank you @Hostafan1.

It’s snowberry…if you figure out how to get rid of it, let me know!

I expect it’s a pest in the wrong place then @Mariam_86? It doesn’t bother us where it is, just a yearly prune. There is a beautifully scented rose growing through it, which I would like to see more of, but it’s too daunting a prospect to try and prune the snowberry back much further,  without ending up doing the same to the rose.

@Emerion glad it works for you! In our garden it’s planted in a very narrow spot where a hedge should (ideally) be and is very hard to eradicate.
