Possible plants for shallow soil in tricky spot

Advice please! I have an awkward spot that is a large gap in the corner of our front garden plot. It is under a berberis hedge and is currently covered in weeds. It is roughly 0.5m square but the real problem is that the soil is only about 2-3 inches deep and has a concrete slab underneath.

This space looks messy and but I don't know what could cheer it up. Are there any low growing, plants that could do well with very little soil? I suppose drainage could also be a possible problem but I havent explored how large the concrete slab is. It can't be too big, as there is a large hedge on one side and a conifer on the other.

Thank you.

Sorry for lack of photo - I took one but the file was too big.

Is it big enough to place a pot? You could remove the weeds, cover the area with slate chips or gravel then put a large pot or container with plants in it on the spot.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I did wonder if it was a pot situation. Perhaps a low one, yes, could definitely fit.

Sedums would do pretty well if there's sun. (The little ones). Saxifrages like London Pride would also be well suited
