Double pink hawthorn tree brown spots

My newly planted (3 months) tree was doing really well and looked so healthy, it now has brown spots on its leaves and they are all falling off. What's wrong and has anyone had any success in treating this or will it just die?

I would like to know if there’s a clematis or rose that I can grow through the tree as it’s such a good shape and did used to shade my seating area 😕
