I know what you mean @JennyJ - Yorkshire is always considered 'the north' in English terms, but a lot of it isn't really that far north! I can choose when I want to walk more easily now that I'm retired, instead of it having to be weekends only. I've spent enough days on hills wet through and seeing b*gger all. Altitude has a big effect. The comedian Ed Byrne jokes that when he walks our Munros, the hills like to play a trick on you. The cloud line likes to sit at just below 3,000 feet, and the hills are over 3,000 feet, so you see nothing at the summits.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
