Will my Rhododendron survive after weevils

Hi I have discovered my rhododendron has been ravaged by weevil grubs. I have repotted in fresh soil and will treat with weevil killer tomorrow but is it likely to survive?

    It depends how much root there is left. If it's a mature specimen and has lost most of its roots it will be difficult especially in such warm weather. But the usual advice is to reduce the top growth to reduce transpiration in a transplanted specimen. Did you take any photos of the extent of the damage?

    Of course if you know what variety it is, you could make a fresh start and buy a new one.

    As @amancalledgeorge says, it will depend on the maturity/size of the shrub, and just how much damage there is. A healthy rhodo can shrug off some weevil damage, especially if it's just adults attacking the foliage. If it's the roots, and there's extensive damage from grubs, it suggests the plant wasn't in great shape anyway, so it may not be salvageable. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
