Sea holly wilting

I have two Big Blue sea holly in pots which I’ve had for three weeks but due to illness haven’t put in the soil but they have been watered daily. The photos show their condition.. what’s wrong and what can I do to rescue them please?

They're big plants for such small pots and the plant produces a long root which has nowhere to go.
Try and plant them out soon as you can and spread the roots out a bit.
You may as well cut the flowers and use them indoors if you like, but best to remove them to let the plant get its roots in the ground.
Once they flower they start to go over, but the dried flower stems look good in winter.
If you can plant them out and keep them watered hopefully they'll come back next year.
They do drop seed too and you can often lift the seedlings and pot them on for more plants that will flower the following year.
