Help! Eucalyptus tree dry and crispy?

I'm totally new to gardening and plants etc so could somebody please help and tell me why they think my tree might be dry and crispy? Hoping it's not dead as it's the most expensive plant in my garden. When I bought it I repotted it into a slightly larger pot with bone meal as advised by sales person. It is in full sun and was told to water weekly. The pot is stood on two bricks to allow for drainage. What can I do to help it get better? Thanks in advance

Watering weekly and in a pot - just not enough.  :)
They can cope with dry conditions no problem if established and in the ground. It would need a lot more than that even in the ground, until established. In a pot is completely different.
It's also quite a big specimen - that's an extra factor, as there's a lot of foliage to keep hydrated.  Full sun is another, as it'll dry out more quickly.
Also - if you're only watering once a week, the chances are that the soil/compost will be bone dry, and then when you do water, it'll run through, making the problem even worse.
In order to rehydrate it, you'd need a tray or saucer under the pot. Then water, and allow any that runs through to get taken up. If you can move it to a slightly shadier spot, that will help prevent it drying out so quickly  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

The problem is it’s very thirsty .The solution is water. Exactly what has already been said .You can’t grow trees or indeed anything just in’ all purpose’ compost and just a bit of bonemeal I’m afraid .As has been said it’s not holding the water so it’s thirsty ,so you water it ,it runs through and so it goes on. Better planting it in the garden .
