The first looks like a gaura.

The second is Persicaria maculosa (aka Redshank)  … a common weed of agricultural and newly disturbed land. Related to some very garden-worthy plants … but this one’s best pulled up before it seeds.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Thanks very much

I agree, I love that pink guara seems we have to call it Oenothera lindheimeri now.
What’s with all the name changes?

I agree too with those IDs.
It's the new names for Dicentra and Sedum spectabile that get me @Lyn. Murder!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I agree with them. The first plant is gaura and The second is Persicaria maculosa. and I must say the pink gaura looks very beautiful.
