This butterfly seems to like grass! Can you tell me its name please?

Found this lovely creature spending time on the lawn. What's it called? And what else can you tell me about it? Scarce? Common?

That is a seriously worn out red admiral. One of last year's survivors by the looks of it.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It looks like a very battered red admiral. A common British butterfly.
