Black insects dots on plant
Hi
We inherited this garden plant which is lovely but suddenly started to die...firstly does anyone know what this plant is and also what are the black dots on the branches and how do we deal with them? My husband seems to think it may be something to do with the wooden fence it stands next to...its also been in direct sunlight...any help would be great!

Best way to remove them is with a toothbrush.
The shell is there to protect the eggs under it, so get brushing asap if possible
I do recognise your plant but the name escapes me atm.

They are toxic ... but so are many garden plants ... just don't let children or pets eat it or play with it, and you should wear gloves when handling it. They're beautiful plants.
