Photos would help us identify the problem, you can upload them using the little mountain icon. Which herbs are you growing?
  • Hi

Thank you for replying back to me. This is the first time I decided to grow herbs. I started off growing rocket and coriander from seed in pots in the garden. I then put them in a grow bag, I have not filled the grow back with compost because I ran out. I placed the grow bag in what is like a greenhouse. I also added snail and slug killer pebbles on top. I am not sure if this was the right thing to do but I thought I would try it. Is this what is causing the fungus?

Yeah it's the pellets.  I used them a couple of years back and the same thing happened.

The pellets aren't being eaten and are just sitting there and furring up.

For an area that size you'd only need a few (if any at all).

Yes, the fungus is growing on the slug pellets and won't do any damage to your herbs. You don't need to use so many slug pellets, just a few will do the job, 2 or 3 is enough.

An awful lot of compost for such tiny seedlings too, which often means they're sitting in damp soil for too long. That can lead to problems too.
They'd have been better just potted on into small containers and allowed to grow on to make bigger root systems before putting into such a large container of compost   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you all for your comments. I will repot them and only add 2-3 pellets.
