Anyone know trees?

We inherited this with the house, so far two local tree surgeons couldn't identify and I can't find anything on the RHS app. The leaves are very soft, and curled round, no hairs, small thorns on branches and rough bark. Not planning to do anything with it, but it'd be nice to know what it is. Cheers All  :)

I'm afraid your picture doesn't really show enough information to get an ID. If you could post pics of the whole tree/shrub showing the trunk, a close up pic of the leaves above and below. Does it have flower/seed? And is there a smell/fragrance?

On the right I see another smaller tree that looks similar is that so? But it's out of focus. 😕

The best clear pictures are necessary in these cases.

  • Thanks @Bijdezee, having another go.

  • No flower, seed or scent that I've ever noticed. Close up of leaves...
