Chantanay carrots...? Or...?

I sowed the carrot seeds, that were free with the BBC magazine, in a container earlier this year. I also planted some chive seeds (try to stave off the carrot fly).  I now have one carrot plant and a bunch of plants with large green roundish, slightly downy leaves and a white tap root which is still very small. Has anyone else had mislabelled or a mixture of seeds? Do you know what they might be (parsnip, mandrake...?) I'm new to trying to grow stuff. It's definitely not the chives they weren't sowed in a row.

There does seem to be a problem with seed packets often containing other than their labelled contents..
It may help if you can post a photo of the intruder - leaves and roots - that may help someone to ID them for you.
Obviously from the description they are neither Chives nor Carrot.
  • Thanks for your response,  nice to know It's not just me. I'm not too bothered as these seeds were "free", although I could see problems if they got mixed with something inedible or toxic.  It's more annoying when the seeds fail completely.  I'll try to get a picture, then try to post it.
