Too much pond weed?

My pond weed (Elodea and Hornwort) has really grown well this year and has almost filled it.
So much so that I cannot see my fish except one large Golden Orfe (was sold as a Golden Tench!) and just a brief glimpse of others.
Normally I can see the bottom when the water is clear.
I have no blanketweed so the pond weed is doing a good job there!
Can I reduce the amount so there is some clear swimming space so I can enjoy watching the fish?

Yes you can remove it from the pond - best laid along the sides so that any little creatures can crawl back into the pond.

Just been out and taken out a couple of buckets full.
Left along the top for crawlies as suggested!
Already I can see the fish!
The pondweed this year has grown exceptionally well from a few bunches when I cleaned out in the spring.
The Hornwort has done really well and seems to be outcompeting the Elodea for once.
