Judas tree, bark very loose and branches splitting

Hi,
I have a Judas tree that is about 20 ft tall, this year all the bark is very loose, three branches have split and have needed to be cut back and there are some white marks on the larger branches. Does anyone know if the tree is dying, the leaves look healthy

Can't see the pale/white bits well, but does look like Lichen which is not an issue for your tree, but best take another photo of the area so others can see it better to diagnose.

General photos of the bark looks fine to me. I am assuming the last photo is of a branch snapping off? That can happen on long branches. If it is a largish tree, it may benefit from some pruning to allow more air and light into the tree. They can be vulnerable to heat and dry weather so you may need to water them if the weather stays dry and hot for more than 3 weeks.
  • thanks for the advice, I’ve posted another image of white marks. Do you think it should be think be pruned now or in the autumn

Thanks for the second set of photos. It looks like the early stages of Lichen and looks healthy overall to me.

Timing of pruning can affect blossoms next year. If you prune now, you may risk losing some of the flowering next year. But if you are shortening and thinning back some branches, it's not going spoil the display too much. You can prune straight after the blossoms next year to minimise disruption to the display. But generally, you can also prune them anytime.
