Frogs and Cats

  • My cat is a total hunter but she has never brought home a frog or toad despite there being lots in my garden.
Now my dog, that is another matter. He hunts anything that moves and it is great fun to watch him bobbing his head up and down as he follows a frog or toad amongst my plant pots or in the baskets of the pond plants, he has never actually caught one, yet.
He has already chased one of my neighbour's chickens and was very keen to get at the guinea pigs when they were outside in their run on the lawn. I have a horrible feeling I will one day have to knock on their door with a dead chicken in my hands. They are so tame they don't really run away from us, just cluck a lot, very  enticing to a naughty Shi Tzu who looks so deceptively innocent.
When he was being rehomed a couple took him home as a companion for their chihua but was returned within 24 hrs as too boisterous. They had chickens so I think maybe he disgraced himself with his hunting prowess. Not a trait the breed is known for that I know of.

Better known for their funny name and a walk on (carried on?) Part in Fawlty Towers 😉

I have a back garden pond and sometimes get woken up by the screams of frogs being attacked for fun by the local cuddly fluff brigade.

I appeal to all cat owners to keep their moggies inside at night.

These lovely frogs and sometimes field mice are killed just for fun by these small Lions and Tigers .

I will not type any more as my language would be un printable.
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
