Alpina Brendon Blue Clematis - re-flowering?!?! 🤩

Hi, so this flowered late March/early April… I’m really surprised… but it’s started flowering again?! I thought when I read before buying one, they were early flowerers? Is this normal? Thanks! 🤩

Yes it’s normal ,mine often comes again .Depends on the weather and how well it’s fed.You are clearly doing a good job. I have another one ,a burgundy colour which does the same ,it’s name escapes me .

Yes - alpinas have a 2nd flush of flowers. Most of the smaller flowered, early clems do. You can give them a little food after the first flush to encourage it, but alpinas generally like poorer, drier conditions than the large flowering varieties   :)
Where you're located often has an effect though. We don't tend to get many flowers in a 2nd flush here.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
