Red spots on Clematis leaves

Hi. I bought this Clematis earlier this summer and while the plant looks healthy and flowering loads, the leaves have developed these red spots recently. I love this plant and don't want it to die - any idea what this means? I am in London, UK

This is just a guess, but l wonder if the roots aren't shaded enough. Is it in a sunny spot ?
It might also be down to a lack of feeding, although the flowers look healthy enough.
    It's a lovely colour  :)

I doubt there's anything to worry about at all. It's quite normal for a bit of foliage damage to occur as the season goes on. If they die back, you can remove them  :)
Sometimes, it can be a bit of liquid fertiliser splashing onto leaves too, if you use it, especially if they're low down, or it can be earlier damage from cold spells.

There is a disease called wilt which some clems get, but that doesn't look like the start of that. When they have it, an entire stem suddenly blacken and droops from the top down. They can also get a bit of mildew which can cause browning of foliage, or if stems get damaged by slugs, or rubbed by any other factors like branches or supports etc, you get browning foliage which dies back. Your pic isn't typical of that though   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
