Wilting Sage bush.

Hi.
This sage bush was here when we moved in 3 years ago.

I noticed 3 days ago that some of the leaves were wilting. I assumed that due to the heat over the last few days it may need some water so I watered it heavily.

The wilting has spread. I can't see any pests on the leaves.

What else could be causing this?

Thanks.

(Having just looked at Google it appears watering the Sage may have been a bad move)

It may just have reached the end of its life.
I've had them go over before for no apparent reason.
You could take some cuttings from the good stuff and you'll soon have some decent replacements. They'll root in no time.
I find that keeping them pruned and not let them get too scraggly keeps them fresh

Yes.. strange as it sounds, it's been over-watered. Give a few days it may perk up.
