Can someone tell me what this is please?

Can someone identify this plant in my raised bed and should I deadhead those spent flowers or leave them?  I can't remember what colours the flowers were.

    It looks like potentilla  to me
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Yes, cut the dead flowering stalks back to the base of the plant and it will flower again I think. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
