Monkey puzzle tree.

I have had a monkey puzzle tree for about 6 weeks and it was doing fine until a few days ago when I found a problem with some of the leaves. As you can see on the photo. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening please? It seems to be spreading to one of the other branches as well now.

It’s honey fungus caused by the wet weather I think
  • Thank you. Have you any idea how to treat this please.

It is not honey fungus. Is it in a pot or in the ground?
  • Hi, It's in the ground.

Do you know what your soil type is? They prefer moist, well drained soil but should be able to cope with most soils, even clay.

A pic of the whole tree, or at least more of it would help. It looks incredibly pale, but that could be the pic.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • It's only 2. 1/2 ft high.

You'll need to remove all that other stuff around it to let it establish. It'll need plenty of water too, until then. The fierce sun at this time of year will certainly affect the growth tips, and they're better in a slightly shadier spot if possible, although they can cope well enough when established.

They're trees from mountainous regions of Chile/Argentina. You do know how big they grow?   :)

Give it two buckets full of water now ... and then one bucket full twice a week until the end of September.  It's thirsty.
Money Puzzles need consistently moist soil ........ not boggy, but moist.  When it gets bigger you'll need to up the watering to two buckets every other day.
