Dianthus

The pots of Dianthus that are currently on sale in Home Bargains.
Will these be a one season wonder or will, with care, they keep on growing?

    Wondering the same here... I read that they are short-lived perennials, but you can propagate by taking cuttings which can probably keep them going. I bought one from my local Sainsbury's for £1 a month ago and it has just started flowering. Think it's well worth it!

    Slugs/snails ate some of the buds though so I'm still keeping it in a pot and bringing the pot back indoors for the night to be safe...

    Depend what Dianthus they are, I’ve had a border of Deltoides in the garden for years, easily grown from seeds.   The slugs don’t touch them.

    These have been around for years in lots of outlets. I have one too. Very straightforward.  :)
    Mine stayed in a terracotta pot for a year or two, but I've now planted it out as I had a space for it. 

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    My dianthus now looks like this.  :| Is it supposed to be like this after flowering? If not, what can I do with it please?
