I have planted these bulbs in 3 different locations in my garden, last year the flower heads formed but didn't open, I assumed it was because last spring was very hot and dry, so this year I watered them when it was dry and the flower heads formed but again didn't open. Does anyone know why this happens?

    Ours this year did open their flowers but were very quickly over which is not the norm.
