Please suggest some top quality Fake Ivy etc
Hi all
I know this is a 'real' gardening forum but I have posted this in the 'Garden Design' section in the hope that somebody can assist.
We bought a house that had been neglected for a long time. Unfortunately, the conifer trees had grown tall and outwards. Outwards so much that it was impacting light into the lounge and onto the drive. I had no choice but to cut them back and obviously I am now left with a wall of Brown (twigs and branches). I need to buy something artificial that will cover this wall of Brown twigs and branches. A friend suggested some 'telescopic' trellis (with attached Ivy) from the budget store Home Bargains but I have looked at the stuff and it looks a little cheap. I am trying to create an artificial wall of Green, possibly the climbing ivy look. So guys, what can you suggest? I know I can look online and find associated products but I'd be keen to hear from people who have bought items such as what I require. I am not necessarily looking for cheap. I am looking for quality artificial greenery. As an aside to this a friend suggested I also plant some Clematis in pots and coax it to attach to the artificial greenery. What are your opinions on this guys?

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Long term ...if the hedge is completely dead would you be able to get it removed and then use a decent trellis and one of the large leafed Ivies ? Gloire de Morengo is variegated and quite a fast grower if the soil is prepared adequately.
I've not seen any artificial ivy ( or any other plant come to that ) which looks half reasonable - various green balls as hangers or standards but nothing which would meet your needs as described.
