Dicksonia new growth

Hi, I purchased a Dicksonia last year which lost in frons over winter, new fronds have sprouted, however there is some other growth from base of the trunk, with small flowers that doesn't look like fronds or any other photos I've seen online, I wanted to know if these are part of Dicksonia fern, or another plant / weed that I should remove?

Thank you for your help

All weeds I think, id just remove them to allow your fern to grow without competition

Agree - pull them out before they get any bigger.  Your D a will only have a central growth so anything else should be removed.

Thank you both for your feedback, I have now removed and its look much more like a tree fern.

It is one of the willowherbs and will seed all over.
Dickonsia needs to be watered ever day now in the summer.
Yours is going to take a very long time to produce the classic trunk.
    Well worth waiting for though.

With an average vertical growth rate of about 3cms per year , as bertrand-mabel says , you'll be waiting a VERY long time to see a 'trunk' develop .
Those huge specimens for sale nowadays are decades , sometimes over a century old .
In habitat , plants up to 15m high have been recorded ! Incredible .

Thanks for all the feedback, weeds removed and looking much better. It will take a long time to grow, the trunk is currently about 10cm high, good to know they grow 3cm per year.
