Dahlias

I have purchased several Dahlia tubers in July and I want to store them for next year. What is the best method. When I over winter my tubers I put in fruit boxes with newspaper and cover with peat free compost should I do the same now for my new additions or leave them in the plastic bags they arrived in and then add to my existing tubers when I lift them in the fruit boxes with compost?

    Welcome to the Forum
The best thing is to get them planted then follow your winter routine at the end of the season.
I fear if you try to store them, they'll simply dry out and die.

I would put them in the ground now.
youll need to watch out for slugs as they love the new shoots.

Normally I would put them in pots first but as it’s late I think straight in is the best to save another disturbance.
