Summer Colour

traceyjentraceyjen Posts: 15
Hi,
I would like to create Summer colour in my garden similar to the photos I have taken out and about.
My garden does not have much colour at all in the Summer.
Could someone please let me know what some of these perennials are called and when I should plant them for Summer colour next year?
Thank you

In the first and second pics, the red flowers are penstemon, the silvery foliage with the red-and-black flower is annual poppy (Papaver somniferum), and there are both purple and pale pink forms of linaria (the thin spikes). There's a white foxglove in the first pic (near the back) and a pink one in the second (in front).

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

The shrub in your last photo is Buddleia alternifolia.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Penstemons, Salvias Phlox and Scabious are great perennials for summer colour

Thank you for all the names. I’m hoping to dig out and area of garden and fill it with top soil so I can create a similar effect.
