Holes in garden!

Hi I’m struggling to figure what is causing these holes. There’s quite a lot now they vary in size and depth  I recently moved here and had top seed put on my whole garden due to uneven garden and this is ruining it all  I have a brook behind the garden  there’s probably 10-15 of these holes. I thought they might be moles but not so sure.

Squirrels? Foxes? Even larger birds like rooks/crows?
They seem to vary in size.
How near the brook is the grass, and are the holes spread around or just in one location? Do you get voles or similar in the area?

We have a lot of birds and squirrels. The brook is close 10-20m from the back edge. They’re darted all over the garden. I have seen a fox before in the garden though. Worried about rats but not sure

Yes - it could be rats, but the holes seem a bit random, and I think they normally have a 'route'. I've never had them in any garden digging holes, so I'm not sure if I'm making an assumption there. Someone else might be able to advise on that.
You may have to invest in a wildlife camera to see if you can catch whatever it is.

I’ve setup my video camera which has a night mode. Let’s see if it picks anything up 🤞

Don't see any scuffs from photos suggesting foxes/wildlife? Are you in a town/suburban/country area? Small, medium, large garden? New build house or period property? All factors in cause and cure? My company up here (central belt Scotland) have been inundated with historical coal subsistence and sinkholes?
If it's new build the amount of crap they bury it could be air pockets dissipating to natural drainage seams?
Rats etc tend to burrow in cover and not in the wide open of a grassed area

I think I can see rabbit droppings in the middle photo 🤔

Doesn't look like moles. They leave little hills of soil behind. Shrew holes are smaller (we have a lot of them). Maybe voles?

Looks like rabbits scrapes often made by the female when she is expecting.

Thanks for the input everyone my video didn’t show anything. Was too dark. Might try again. My garden seems an odd place for rabbits to come as I literally have nothing for them to eat apart from grass.
Ill be putting a fence up I assume they are coming and going out the back lol
