Hi
i just thought I’d submit a post about Crocosmia (Lucifer) bulbs. I planted the bulbs in late Spring when the soil was warming up and I honestly thought they weren’t going to show! After at least 14 weeks, they sprouted. Every one of the 15 bulbs! They are going strong but not sure if they’ll flower this year. So, if you decide to plant Crocosmia next Spring, be patient, they take time!

Lucifer is slightly earlier than most of the other varieties, and would normally be July flowering. As spring was slightly trickier in many areas this year, it may well be a bit  later.
However, they'll take a little while to reach their full size - which is around four feet - so you may not get any flowers this year. One of the tallest varieties   :)

Crocosmias are generally one of the easiest plants to grow.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
