Aloe Vera

I have an Aloe Vera that I have had for several years and it came in a small pot.  It has outgrown the pot so I have repotted it. I’m desperate not to kill it but it won’t stop growing! It used to be in a nice small pot in the windowsill and then it started looking unhappy so I moved in but it’s now very big, in a big pot and still doesn’t look happy. Do you know how I can try and make it happy again but not let it grow so big it outgrows my house?

You can't really bonsai them, if that's what you're asking. If you pot it on into gritty compost and let it grow a little, you may find it produces a 'pup' - a baby plant which forms next to the parent, which after it's established you can gently separate and then have a new, nice small one to have on your windowsill, while the parent grows on. You can always give the parent plant away to someone with a bigger house once the baby is growing on its own. And then repeat.
