Help with tree ID please 🌿 possible exotic ...
A friend has a tree that he thought was an American elm, but now thinks not. Any IDs? It might an exotic... Any help very welcome.

Definitely Ulmus sp...common name Elm.
Will need to research American elm.
To be so healthy and old it is not a common UK one or it would have had Dutch elm disease and be dead.

Except that Ulmus laevis ..A common elm sp...European white elm should be easier to id.The flowers and fruits are distinct because they are long stalked and flutter in the slightest breeze.
If garden is in NGS then the owner may know the id of this handsome specimen.
