    I'm seeing mainly spanish slugs this year, and they are causing havoc.  If I can't be bothered to go out with a torch and snips for a night or two, the plants really pay the price.  Out of about 40 asters I raised, less than half are left and only half of those look like they are going to flower and have main growing tips left.  4 out of 16 (grown on for a year in pots) delphiniums left now, and I'm not sure a rabbit would eat some of the lettuces. :'(
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
