Pretty lilac flower id please

Hi there, my sister is in Dyrham Park near Bath and has just sent me this picture, does anyone know the flower? And also the low glossy hedge in front of them?

Many thanks on her behalf!

The flower looks like campanula lactiflora.

    Could it be a Phlox.

  • Is it eupatorium? If I had to guess about the hedge I'd go for laurel but the leaf looks to me to be a bit more pointy than the common cherry laurel variety.

I think the flower is Campanula lactiflora.

Not sure about the hedge … a closer pic would help

Thank you everyone, I'll pass on your ideas to my sister. It could be a campanula... @Dovefromabove I don't have a closer photo unfortunately as my sister took the pic on a visit to a stately home.  Thanks again!

    😊
it might be an idea to email the stately home in question … most are only too pleased that visitors are really interested in what they’re offering … a friend years ago was Head Gardener at a stately home … she’d have been really chuffed if someone
had got in touch and asked about a plant 😊
