Slugs in potatoes

Recently I’ve been growing potatoes in bags and opened up the little hatch to see what was going on below. Then to my horror I found a slug which I quickly removed and sealed the gap. I had a quick look inside that and the other bags and there didn’t seem to be any more. Could this be a bigger problem or was it just the one slug. I have also got some small holes in my leaves up top as well. At the moment there are no tubers, however I suspect they will start forming within the next 20 days.

    Slugs are inevitable and get everywhere. Keeled slugs are the ones which damage tubers. You can do a night patrol to find and dispose of them or use slug pellets.
