  • Hi all. My Magnolia Genie has suddenly developed these yellow spots/ raised bumps on some of its leaves. A few leaves are curled. I inspected it yesterday and found two sets of leaves stuck together with webbing, wasn't sure if it was spider or caterpillar but removed them nonetheless. I sprayed with a solution of horticultural soap and neem early this morning for good measure. The plant is in a pot with plenty of horticultural grit and ericaceous compost. It stands on bricks to aid drainage and to deter pests. My question is, what is it and what is causing it? I'm a novice gardener and I have never seen this before. Thanks in advance for your help.

Possibly some kind of scale insect damage, but that's just a guess l'm afraid.
