Should i harvest red chili as fast i turns red to increase yield?

  • I preserve any surplus ripe chillies in a screwtop jar under neat malt vinegar for use in cooking. They can also be used chopped and put in salads. A lot easier than sitting threading them onto cotton thread and they do not go pulpy either.

    I was referring to the method I use for drying chillies - quick and simple and if they are ripe and hung in dry air, they don't go pulpy.  I also freeze some too  :)

    I use only green chillies, and they are chopped, put into a tray, frozen and then bagged up. It is then easier to take how much ever you need from the ziploc bag.
