Cut back Veronica Aust?..

BiljeBilje Posts: 811
I was given a clump of the above plant last year,  can’t remember it’s full name. I split it into 4 potted it up and planted it in Spring it’s grown well and given a lovely display of not too tall blue flowered spikes. It’s finished flowering but I’m not sure what to do next. Do I just snip off the flower stems or give it a good haircut as I’ve done with lanky geraniums in my borders? Thanks

It may be Veronica Austrica that you have.
I grow V spicata Blue Bouquet and V. Rose Tones
My Blue Bouquet finished the first flush of flowers a couple of weeks ago and I cut it back by about half, so I removed the dead flowers and some of the stem. Lots of new shoots appearing already from lower down, so hopefully more flowers in a few weeks.
The Rose Tones aren't flowering yet

Thanks Pete …yes it is Austrica, I got Australia in my head and it wouldn’t go away. I’ll follow your good advice.
