Crinodendron hookerianum

Hi, my recently planted Crinodendron has developed silver grey spots on the leaves also some leaves are turning brown and yellow at the tips. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, a bit more info such as type of soil, location (sun or shade), watering and feeding frequency, as well as a pic or two would help.
  • Hi Elfer thanks -
It's planted in full sun, the soil is quite fine and sandy. It gets watered every day in this hot weather.

My understanding is that it prefers shade and moist soil whereas sand doesn't hold on to moisture and being in full sun requires even more hydration so it could well be very thirsty as your type of soil can't hold enough moisture for the roots to absorb enough water.

As you’ve only just planted it out I would cut the long top grow down,  that will give the roots time to go down and get established without having to maintain the top growth.
Mine absolutely thrive in my acid soil,  so maybe that’s a feature to think about.

I grow mine in a pot because it needs acid soil - what is your soil pH?

  • Thanks everyone for taking the time to help. Seems like maybe I've planted it in the wrong place. I'll check out the ph level an definitely give it more water. Thanks again.
