Yellow squash

My squash form and then get a black powder on them and then fall off?

    Looks healthy enough, so I suspect the female flowers aren't being pollinated.  When you see an open female flower (so will have a small squash behind it), snip-off an open male flower, remove the petal and (very gently) touch the centre of the female flower with the male one, transferring the pollen:

    It's occurring after the squash begins to grow.  I had a dozen small squash fall off

    Partial pollination can do that, so still worth trying.
