The photo below is of my hypericum which I believe to be in the same family as St John's Wort with the yellow flowers. What variety is the one below please? Any ideas also on the one next to it? Many thanks.
@B3 I think I will just have to accept the fact that it is a hypericum but not know what type. The one with the mauve flowers is rather a thug and takes over. Very nondescript. The bottom right is a hebe heartbreaker. Many thanks for your input.
I thought it looked like a type of syringia with the buds, but the open flowers look like a bit like a bottlebrush. Maybe @Silver surfer can advise on either or both of them .
@robairdmacraignil@Silver surfer Many thanks for all the information. Spiraea Douglasii and Billardii look very similar but if the leaves distinguish which one it is I will have a look tomorrow. It does state that it's a suckering shrub and I can certainly confirm that. Not something I would recommend. Thanks to you both.
