Winter flowering heathers!

Can anybody tell me , is it too late to cut back winter flowering heathers. I usually do it around May but I can't remember if it was too wet or too cold, either for me or the plants. Is it safer just to leave them this year and the will be much bigger or cut them now. Help please!!

I also forgot and trimmed mine back last week, but didn't go as hard as usual.
There seems to be new growth already, but that's not to say I haven't cut off the flowers for this winter.. I don't think I have 🤔

I was wondering that, knowing my luck I will cut them and we will get the heatwave they are threatening 🥵,still can't decide. I should hate to deprive the bees this winter.

I suppose I could cut the heathers and put a jar of honey out.🤔

You have a choice - either trim back lightly now [not cutting back too far ] and possibly have fewer flowers, or perhaps very few at all this season, or - don't trim back and risk it becoming woodier, and therefore less attractive and less productive.
    I know which I'd choose  :)

I think you are both right ,I  can always start with the bigger and more unruly ones then finish the rest and hope for the best. Thank you for encouragement 😊
